We are very excited that you will be attending the Arts Business Institute’s Wholesale 101 at the North Dakota State University (NDSU). Wholesale 101 is held in partnership with the Art Up initiative focused on assisting North Dakota artisan businesses in pursuing new sales channels to increase sales.

Registration: The registration table will be set up in the lobby of NDSU. At registration you will receive your badge for the workshop and a binder with supplemental information provided by the faculty to reinforce what they will be presenting. All of the workshops will be held in room 114 of NDSU. Here, you will also find an information and resource table with periodicals and art related brochures.

Breakfast, Lunch and Refreshments will be provided.

Mentor Session: The mentoring sessions are an evaluation of your product line and/or business plan. They are not critiques. You will get a professional evaluation of what is successful about your business and tips on how to improve. What you need for your mentor session:
  • Your portfolio
  • Images of your work (please do not brings slides we will not have a slide table)
  • Actual prices of your work
Parking: Parking for the NDSU Downtown is available on the street.

Wholesale 101 is a part of a larger Art Up initiative focused on assisting North Dakota artisan businesses in pursuing new sales channels to increase sales. More information on the Art Up initiative can be found at www.ndsbdc.org.

Sponsored by the Arts Business Institute the programming includes educational seminars designed specifically for artists, guided marketplace tours, individual mentoring sessions, and the opportunity to ask questions and network with ABI faculty and staff and other artists.

Each day Wendy Rosen will present a group critique with one selected artist from the Visiting Artists program.
If you would like to apply please email five images at 300DPI to info@artsbusinessinstitute.org.
Two artists will be selected.

Mentor Session

Please arrive 10 minutes early for your mentor session. During this time you will be able to set up your materials.

Please bring a portfolio of your work, marketing materials and anything you would like the mentors to look at. Printed images are suggested; we will not have slide lights so slides will be very hard to read. We prefer that you bring images and not the actual pieces.

Wholesale Survival Essentials: Visiting Artist Program

Visiting Artist Program Update

As the Visiting Artist Program approaches
I want to touch base with everyone.

The program starts at 11:00am on Saturday. We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early (Note: You will not be allowed on the show floor until the scheduled time). When you arrive at the convention center, please register and pick up a badge holder and packet of information at the Exhibitor Will Call. Keep your badge in view at all times.
The workshops will be held in room 201A. The Visiting Artist Lounge will be in room 303AB on the third floor. The lounge will have resource materials as well as a wonderful view of the show floor.
  • If you registered before 7/12/07 you should have received your badges in the mail.
  • If you registered before 7/12/07 and have not received your badges, please contact me at Meghan@artsbusinessinstitute.org.
  • If you registered after 7/12/07, you will need to pick up your badge at Exhibitor Will Call.

The mentoring session times will be posted at the Visiting Artist workshop and will not be confirmed until the show.
